As you start the new year don’t f0rget to  BLOG BLOG BLOG! Putting out new, unique content with targeted keywords is still one of the best ways to boost your SEO and get your name out there. Whether you are a sole proprietor or have a medium to large-sized small business, the results from content marketing can be easily measurable.

Here are a few tips to maximize your content marketing efforts:

1. Know your audience. Who do you want to write to? Don’t forget that your message must speak to your customers and it doesn’t have to appeal to everyone. If you have a gender-specific business, speak to that audience. Want to reach spouses, target your content towards them. Quite often we see businesses with excellent blogs that try to reach EVERYBODY. While this would be nice, it just isn’t possible so target your niche.

2. Get your ENTIRE message out there. Blogs are everywhere. Content is everywhere. Along with reaching your target audience, you must convey your message. Your entire message. The great thing about having a blog is that you can have multiple posts. Tackle one issue per post and keep writing! If you have multiple product lines, make sure you discuss them ALL, not just the top seller. You want to create product/service awareness and neglecting any parts of your business in your content will cause your potential customers to neglect it too.

3. Guest blog. Find other blog sites that offer guest blogs and send them your pitch. Site LOVE getting free content so if you can offer your free content while spreading word about your business, it is a win-win. Don’t forget that your message across multiple sites is exponentially as effective as your message on just your site.

Don’t let the beginning of 2015 slip by without ramping up your business. Customers are everywhere, but you’ll need to reach them. With proper content marketing you can reach millions of customers without leaving the house.
